  1. CATALOG/EXPAND
  2. ==============
  3.  
  4.  This function expands the active catalogue by one/several graphics.
  5.  Please read also the chapter "Settings - Generate Catalog".
  6.  
  7.  Note: When cataloguing several graphics from the LOGFILE
  8.        the procedure can be aborted via the CANCEL-button.
  9.        Cataloguing the remaining graphics may then be continued
  10.        later by the function READ LOGFILE.
  11.        During the cataloguing of graphics a window displays information
  12.        about them (size, number of colours, etc.)
  13.  
  14.  The different functions:
  15.  ========================

  17.   selected files:
  18.   ---------------
  19.         The file to be catalogued is selected with the file requester.
  20.         If it is not a graphic file, the program returns to the main
  21.         screen and reports a corresponding error message.
  22.         When expanding a catalogue with single files, multi-selection
  23.         of files is also possible by pressing the SHIFT-key. Should
  24.         multiple files have been selected, these will be added to the
  25.         logfile.
  26.         In the logfile menu (see related chapter) you now have the
  27.         possibility to take the selected files for the current catalogue.
  28.         Also, all other functions of the logfile menu will be available.

  31.   whole directory:
  32.   ----------------
  33.         By using the path requester a directory is selected which
  34.         searches for bitmapped graphics. All graphics located
  35.         will be listed in a LOGFILE.
  36.         The presented LOGFILE-Menu then allows cataloguing of
  37.         all of the detected graphics. This procedure will be explained
  38.         more detailed later in this text.

  41.   whole directory plus subdirectories:
  42.   ------------------------------------
  43.         This function is the same as "whole directory" with the
  44.         exception that all sub directories of the selected
  45.         path will be scanned recursively for graphics.
  46.         Thus this function allows the user to search through whole
  47.         partitions of hard drives or whole CD-ROMs for graphics.
  48.         It will also write all the graphic file names into a
  49.         LOGFILE (--> the LOGFILE-MENU).
  50.         The presented LOGFILE-Menu then allows cataloguing of
  51.         all of the detected graphics.

  54.   Reading content of Logfile:
  55.   ---------------------------
  56.         If available, this function allows the user to read the Logfile's
  57.         content and catalogue the listed files.

  60.     The Logfile-Menu:
  61.     =================
  62.  
  63.          The LOGFILE-Menu supplies useful functions for cataloguing
  64.          of graphics. These are in detail:
  65.  
  66.            - Expand:       catalogues all graphics listed in the logfile.
  67.  
  68.            - Update:       Removes all graphics from the logfile which are
  69.                            already in the active catalogue.
  70.                            This easily helps avoiding duplicate entries.
  71.  
  72.            - Sort:         Logfile entries will be sorted alphabetically
  73.                            in ascending order. This should always be
  74.                            called before cataloguing.
  75.  
  76.            - Information:  Displays information about the selected
  77.                            graphic file (type, size, colour depth, etc.)
  78.  
  79.            - Remove:       Removes the selected graphic file from the
  80.                            LOGFILE. Sorting the logfile after removals
  81.                            is recommended.

  83.            - Delete file   Deletes the current logfile.
  84.  
  85.            - Print:        Sends the logfile content to an attached
  86.                            printer.

  88.            - View:         Displays the corresponding graphic.
  89.                            Also called by double-clicking onto the
  90.                            graphic's name.

  94.            Note:      The Close-Gadget (or ESCape key) ends the
  95.            -----      LOGFILEMENU. But data will not be lost.
  96.                       By calling READ LOGFILE it is possible to restore
  97.                       the logfile at any time to catalogue its content.

  100.   PhotoCD:
  101.   --------
  102.  
  103.       This function reads PhotoCD-contact sheets from CD-ROM
  104.       (configuration can be done first via PROGRAM/SETTINGS).
  105.       A requester window appears and only parts of a photo CD may
  106.       selected for scanning by selecting the start and end picture. 
  107.       The program is also able to read Portfolio Photo-CDs.

  110.  Scanner:
  111.  --------
  112.  
  113.      PMPro now directly supports the ScanQuix3 scanner.device. You
  114.      are now able to directly scan graphics via the drivers of ScanQuix3
  115.      into PMPro's image processing menu, which allows easy changing of the 
  116.      graphics as required (more than 40 operators like colour reduction,
  117.      scaling, various filters and so on). Simply save it in one of the
  118.      15 PMPro supported output formats when finished.
  119.      After saving it will automatically be added to the active catalogue.

  121.      Note: ScanQuix3 must be installed on your Amiga to use this function!
